Go For Two: NFL Week 8 Games To Watch

It's week 8 -- what games should we be watching?

Thursday 8:25PM EST - Chargers (5-2) at Broncos.(5-1): First off, like everyone else on the planet, due props to Peyton Manning. I have loved him since his first MasterCard commercial.

As for what the rest of the planet thinks of the Chargers being 5-2 ...

That pretty much sums it up. The newly voted America's team, the Broncos, against the team most likely to be voted America's Meh team.

Let's just think for one moment if the Chargers made it to the Super Bowl, would anyone even care? Wouldn't you kinda secretly be rolling your eyes?

Fortunately, the Broncos will be standing in the Chargers way. This game is a big AFC showdown, even if it is only week 8. These two teams are in a battle for the AFC West. This game very well may define seeding for the AFC. I believe two teams will be coming out of the AFC West into the playoffs. This game will determine who gets what seed. Kansas City Chiefs aren't done by any stretch of the imagination. They lost favor with fans, like me, when they lost 5 of their last 7 games last year. It takes a lot out a fan to get over that. It takes even more for a fan of the NFL who only casually watches a team, to suddenly have their interest peeked, to then get the rug pulled out from under them. I am so much less likely to give two shits about the Kansas City Chiefs because of their debacle last year. Yet, these three will be jockeying for wins in this division.

Sunday 1:00PM EST - Rams (2-4) at Chiefs (3-3): Yes, but only to look at the score as it flashes by on the ticker. The Rams are intriguing. Yes, they lost to the Vikings - ugh, but they were also kinda sorta in it against the Niners, Cowboys, and Eagles, despite losing those game. The Chiefs? Who cares.

Sunday 1:00PM EST - Eagles (5-1) at Cardinals (5-1): This game is weird for me. I really, really like the fact that the Seahawks are 3-3 and that the Niners aren't the gods everyone thought they were. It thrills me to no end that the Arizona Cardinals are in the lead of the NFC West. It's exciting that they are winning even though they have started three separate quarterbacks. I love Bruce Arians. The guy is awesome.

Ask me to watch the game ... oooh, right. Uh, yeah. I don't think so.

Sunday 8:30PM EST - Packers (5-2) at Saints (2-4): In the not so distant past, this game would have been the game of the week, which is probably why it is the Sunday night game. Two NFC powerhouses. Well, not anymore. All you had to do was watch the last 1:48 of the Lions/Saints game to watch Drew Brees look like utter hell. What happened to the Saints? One minute and forty-eights seconds for the Saints of the past would have been all the time they needed. Not this team.

Yet, you know you will keep you eye on the this game out of respect for the past. You never know, and that's, as they say, why they play the game.

What games are ridiculous for even being aired?

The Washington Football Team at Cowboys: Ah, the streak continues of worthless MNF games. Who cares? Washington is on their 3rd string QB. Jesus.

Dolphins at Jaguars: Really? I'd rather watch Better Off Dead. One, it's an awesome movie. Two, it has John Cusack in it. Third, The Jaguars would be better off dead.

Better Off Dead Keys

Vikings at Buccaneers. Couldn't they just air another great 80's movie instead? How about Overboard. Now I'd much rather watch that than this game.

This is definitely what it would feel like to have to watch this game.

Go For Two: NFL week 3 games I'll be watching

There were a lot of intriguing games from week 2, games like the Chargers and the Hawks, the Niners and the Bears, the Browns and the Saints.

What are the games you should be paying attention to in week 3?

I'll let you in on the scoop of some of the games I'll be watching.

First and foremost, I will highlight:

Go For Two: Seahawks at Texans

Sorry about your loss.

There are a few games this week that could be considered the game of the week. No, San Francisco, no one cares that you are playing the Rams.

I'm talking about perhaps New England versus Atlanta. New England is 3-0, but without any merit. They beat some of the worst teams in the entire NFL. Now, I know Atlanta is struggling, but this game could really highlight the Patriots deficiencies.

The other game that I considered highlighting and picking as the game of the week was the Miami Dolphins against the Saints. Everyone's pumped that they have won 3 games, and yay for them. They have been so terrible, for so long, it's nice to see them get some wins. Their wins are also more impressive than that of the Patriots, so that's also pretty cool. However, they are going up against the monster machine of the Saints. I don't see this going well for the Dolphins. However, if the Dolphins DO win, a lot more people are actually going to stop just talking about the Dolphins and actually start watching them.

Therefore, the game of the week is ...

Random Thoughts from Sunday

1. How could the Panthers lose against Chicago? That was super-duper annoying as a Green Bay fan.

Boo-hoo

2. Lions. Thank you for beating the Seahawks. Where's your annoying smile now Pete Carroll?

3. I know I picked the Saints to beat the Broncos, but I am super happy I was wrong. I love Peyton Manning. His return to football is an inspiration to anyone who has ever tried, or is trying, to recover from an injury.

4. Andy Reid considering going with a different QB than Vick? Ha ha Michael Vick. I can't wait to celebrate the day you are gone from football you dog killing piece of shit.

5. Tony Romo threw 3 interceptions in the first half and was down 23-0. It was a fun game to watch the Cowboys, no matter what you think of them, attempt a come back while stressing out Eli and Coughlin. I still don't like either team, but this was a fun game to watch.

6. Miami beating the Jets. Nice.

So ugly

7. The Steelers beat Washington. Of course they did. Washington was having a seizure every time they had to look at those disgusting, nauseating jerseys.

Go For Two: Water Cooler Topics For NFL Week 4

What week 4 games will everyone be talking about!?

You knew this was coming from me, but I think we can all agree I didn't have a choice.

There is only one game you have to watch this week. The 1-2* Green Bay Packers versus the 0-3 New Orleans Saints.

No other game will be talked about more. One team, Green Bay, has a losing record due to the worst call in the history of the game. The other team, the Saints, deserve their 0-3 record because they are a naughty, self-righteous organization that broke the rules and got caught.

Any other season, this game would be considered awful due to the losing records of both teams. But this season, thanks to Roger Goodell and team owners, it's drama on par with The Sopranos, Mad Men, Breaking Bad, and the list goes on and on ...

As for other NFL games, due to the injustice done to the Packers, I find myself not giving a shit anymore.

But, Madeline, seriously, what about these three games ...

Go For Two: Water Cooler Topics For Week 3

Are we good or bad?

Week 2 was very interesting. The Saints are 0-2. Green Bay's defense looked good. Peyton Manning may not be back after all and the 49ers look like the best team in the NFC.

Week 3 is huge. Teams get to show what they are really made of. Take Dallas, for example -- will they prove to be the team from week 1 that got a huge win over the Giants, or are they gonna be the team from week 2 that lost to Seattle?

Here are the games to watch in week 3.
