Seattle Seahawks

Go For Two: Dolphins versus Falcons

What's the game of the week! Hmmm. Who should I pick to highlight .... ?

Uhh .... no one?

Week 3's games are yawn producing. Giants versus Panthers? Meh. Rams versus Cowboys? Meh. Browns versus Vikings? Double meh.

I'm trying to be a better blogger, and not just pick the Packers versus Bengals because the Packers are my team. Although, they may be one of the only competitive games between two potenial playoff contenders.

However, the game of the week is the 2-0 Miami Dolphins versus the 1-1 Atlanta Falcons.

Here's why I am picking it as the game of the week.

Go For Two: Seattle versus San Francisco

Thank you ESPN.go.com. Thank you

The Niners look like they are the best team in the entire NFL. Their first game against the Packers was pretty impressive. Green Bay did a great job. The Packers held the Niners to 90 yards in rushing, which was better for our Packers team, but then allowed Kaepernick to throw for 404 yards.

Now comes, what many consider, to be the second best team in the NFC. Seattle beat the Panthers 12-7. I watched a bit of the game. Not a high scoring game, but that's the thing about Seattle, they always manage the win. Wilson threw for 320 yards and doesn't appear to be in any kind of sophomore slump.

The question really becomes, how will these two teams match up?

Who will lead their team to victory?

Wow! Rookie against rookie. Both of these quarterbacks have shined in their NFL debut season. It was thought that RGIII could be a star, but nobody new how much. On the other hand, it was presumed during off-season that Matt Flynn, who shined in the 2011 season finale of the Packers versus the Lions, would be the starter for the Seahawks. Then, gasp, Old Pete picked Russel Wilson instead.

But it's not just the quarterbacks that shine in these two offenses. Both have excellent running backs in Alfred Morris and Marshawn Lynch. Lynch was more of a known quantity, but Morris? Another Washington rookie -- but he seemed to come out of the blue (not out of the blue, exactly. He came from Florida Atlantic.)

Washington will have to prepare for Seattle's ability to put up big points. 58 points against the Cards, 50 against the Bills, and 42 against the 49ers. Those are impressive numbers.

courtesy of articles.latimes.comAnother scary aspect of Seattle is their secondary. Sherman is a tough and talented cornerback although, a little hot-headed. He was the one that started talking smack to Brady as Mr. Bundchen tried to walk off the field when the Patriots lost to the Seahawks. You don't have to like the guy, which I don't, but you do have to prepare for him.

Sexy, funny, and smart. Oh, and a pretty good football player

So here is what it really comes down to for me. I don't like Pete Carroll. I don't like Sherman's attitude. I don't like the Fail Mary that got them here and cost my Packers the 2nd seed. On the other hand, I do like RGIII, I do like the fact that Washington is in the playoffs because they beat two teams that I despise -- the New York Football Giants, and America's team, the Cowboys.

Go For Two: Water Cooler Topics For Week 17

Week 17! There is no need to talk about players, or team personalities, it's the time of the year of win or go home, win and get a bye, and still for the sorry few -- playing for some trace amount of respect.

Somehow, the Cowboys managed to do it again. They are like the annoying little brother you have to take everywhere with you, because Mom said so. Why, oh, why do the Cowboys have to be considered the game of the week! Why do they get the prime time slot? Ugh. It's because it's win or go home for the Cowboys. But if you don't like the Cowboys, which a lot of people don't, we have to watch this game. This is why a lot of us hate the Cowboys -- because they are shoved down our throats. I know this is one football fan who hopes they do the latter, and GO HOME!

Also, I like Washington. I like RGIII. He's like Aaron Rodgers, you're happy he's your quarterback, not just because he is an exceptional athlete, but because you would want to hang out with the guy. Sorry Andrew Luck, you look like a psychopath. In fact, if I saw Mr. Luck walking on my side of the street, as a woman, I might cross over to the other side of the street as soon as I got a chance. Tony Romo, I wouldn't cross over to the other side of the street if I saw you, I'd take the opportunity to punch you in your face and wipe away that stupid grin of yours. But I digress.

The real game of the week to watch is ...

Go For Two: Water Cooler Topics For Week 16

Ack! Second to last game of the season. Where did the time go? There are a lot of good games, but I'm going to highlight the two that will be most talked about.

Bengals (8-6) vs Steelers (7-7) at 1:00PM ET

The Bengals are the 6th seed and the Steelers are the 7th seed. This is a must win for both team. There has been some ill-advised words from Big Ben about the play calling. Be careful Rapistberger, you don't want to blemish that shinning image of yours.

49ers vs Seahawks at 8:20PM ET

Who could believe the 49ers beat the Patriots last week?! All I have to say is, I was really rooting for the Patriots because I want my Pack to have the two seed. Also, being from San Francisco, I dislike the bandwagon fans here.

However, due to the epic fail of the refs, I find it really, really difficult to root for the Seahawks after their Fail Mary against my Pack. I truly can not decide who to root for.

Some other games to keep an eye on due to playoff implications are:

Saints at Cowboys

Redskins at Eagles

Vikings at Texans

Bears at Cardinals

Giants at Ravens

Fantasy Scoreboard: Week 14

I mean.... be serious.

Well, ladies & gents, it's official. My fantasy team is in the loser's bracket beginning next week. But my team did score 129.2 points this week, even with one player that didn't touch a ball. And please note that's approximately 50 points more than some other nameless shifty team that somehow squeaked into the playoffs. Also please note that the average points against for teams in our league is 1311.81. I had 1434.1 points scored against me. But don't worry, I'm not bitter.....
